Episode 002: Ghost Stories

30:50 | Download | Subscribe

Nick and I agreed: the next show will be something light. But until then, turn out the lights and hide under the covers, because this shit's fucked up.

Exploring the Frankenstein Family Crypt in 1952. Paranormal observations by an eight-year-old. The haunting of an unkind kitty, a discussion of the ghost story structure, and a very scary pantry door. (Seriously).

This episode features contributions from Michael Kraskin of Catalogue of Ships. Also a spooky story from Hans Anderson.

Contribute, Suckah

If you have a story to tell or audio to contribute, we want to hear it. It doesn't have to be conventional, it just has to be intimate. Email us at contact [at] loveandradio [dot] org.

We're hoping to get a voicemail line up, so you can simply call in and record something we might put on the show, but we're having difficulty finding someplace cheap that will let you leave messages longer than a couple minutes. I'll post another announcement if we manage to find anything.

In the meantime, stay tuned for our spoooooo-ooooky Halloween special, going up this weekend.

The Blinding Fame of Hartford Radio

WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio's Essential Radio is broadcasting the Last Goodbye episode from This One Time this Sunday at 4pm. This is the first time a major-market station has broadcast a full episode of anything we've made, so we're (understandably) pretty fuckin' stoked.

Adrianne reacts to the news.

Now the entire state of Connecticut gets to hear about the time I made out with some dude in high school. Great.

Losing Virginity

Welcome to Love & Radio all. As it stands, we are two people who put out a radio show podcast twice a month, filled with stories, random musings, interesting tidbits, and wonky music. It's a bit of an extension of a show Adrianne and I did in college at WXBC called This One Time, but 8 billions times more in-depth, artful, and prententious.

Perhaps loveandradio.org will grow to include more producers and/or shows... who knows?

Right now, you'll notice that the site looks like shit. That's because we haven't had time to prettify it, or even put up helpful links or information. Hell, we haven't even published our first episode yet. That will come soon, I promise.

In the meantime, amuse yourself with some past episodes of TOT, or this remix of an episode of Open Source I made a few weeks ago.
