Episode 005: Get Me Away From Here

I'm trying to recall how we first conceived of the premise to this show. Was it inspired by Josh's story, or Katie's? Was it my somewhat random confession to Nick, right as we were about to leave work to grab burritos, or did it really begin months ago when we first heard Jenny's piece?

Whatever. All you need to know is that warm, fuzzy feeling: "oh shit I'm trapped" perhaps followed by a little "help me," or maybe the other way around. And if you don't know, you're about to find out.

You've been waiting, and so have we: here at last is episode 005, in all of its glory. We think you might like it.

  • Katie escapes to and away from one faction of the tradition known as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

  • Producer Jenny Asarnow looks to Julie the Amtrak God to get away from it all.

  • I have my rescue fantasies. Don't we all? Right? . . . This is normal? Guys?

  • Ben Popik of Olde English moves in with his girlfriend. They're in love, it's going to be great.

  • Josh Cole is buried in lots and lots and lots of snow.

  • Kerry Seed of The Local Option dodges an untimely death via bear.

On board the Coast Starlight.

After a weeklong stint in LA and the Bay Area, I'm back in town. Episode five is coming soon, but in the meantime, here's a little teaser to whet your appetite.

Patience, My Pets

We haven't forgotten about you--though the comments and emails are muchly appreciated.

Right now, thanks our devotion to you and the hours of editing of the past couple weeks, my bed currently looks like it did during my last semester at Bard--covered in piles and junk with a person-shaped gap in the center for sleeping--and Adrianne's relationship has been strained to nearly the breaking point.

I'm sad to let you know the prognosis is still not looking good, since my cohort is currently up in New Hampshire with her boyfriend to, y'know, have a life and stuff, and I'm currently visiting my sister out in California for the next week.

Suffice it to say, you'll have to wait just a little longer.

In meantime, though we have nothing to show for it, we've actually been up to some pretty cool stuff, including a trip up to WMPG in Portland, Maine last weekend to talk to a few current and former high school radio producers about L&R/TOT. Extra special thanks to Kerry Seed for inviting us up there and putting the whole event together, and feeding us delicious Vietnamese food.

Also in the works is a brand-spanking new version of the website, with art design by Laurence Laufer.
