Lez-stravaganza!

If you like lesbians (and let's be honest here, who doesn't like lesbians?--even the pervs over at the AFA will sneak a peak if they get the chance), you'll no doubt want to grab a copy of Harlyn Aizley's new book: Confessions of the Other Mother.

If Harlyn's name sounds familiar, that's because she only happens to be one of our favorite contributors here at L&R, making appearances here and here (and more coming soon). For Confessions, Harlyn chose to compile the work of several others, but if her own writing skill is anything to go on, you gotta figure she's got pretty damn good taste.

The release date is May 11th. If you happen to be in the Boston area that day, stop by the Brookline Booksmith in the evening for book release party shenanigans.

We Need Friends

Adrianne is convinced MySpace is nothing more than a conglomeration of whores and lame-ass bands, and while I'm tempted to agree, I decided to buckle down and set up an account for L&R.

So please, if you've got a MySpace account, encourage our whorish sensibilities: be a friend of Love & Radio.

Episode 007: Elimination

28:58 | Listen | Subscribe

This is a picture of the Golden Tower project, created by Seattle-based artist Susan Robb. She asked 400 people to pee in jars, and created what you see above.

For the latest episode of L&R, we asked significantly less people to verbally pee into our microphones, and created what you're about to hear: an ode to the wonders of urine.

This is the single greatest contribution to the world of radio ever created. Take that, David Fucking Isay. I'll be expecting my MacArthur genius award shortly.

The rundown:

  • Jesse Allen loses a cribbage bet. Hilarity ensues.
  • Maria has her first experience with a catheter. Hilarity does not ensue.
  • Daphne talks about the secret cure to cancer and AIDs the pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know about.
  • David Terry celebrates his 21st birthday by going to a shitty bar. Hilarity sort of has a grand mal seizure.
  • Jesse reappears to explain why he wishes he could piss like a cappuccino machine.
  • David describes the aftermath of his birthday. I won't say if hilarity is involved, but I will say it includes a hobo, several large black drag queens, and a plethora of awkward moments.

David's story was edited and scored by Michael Kraskin, and first appeared on their podcast, Catalogue of Ships.
